What is ‘Antimicrobial’?
An Antimicrobial agent will kill or suppress the growth of microbes such as mold, mildew, fungi, bacteria on inanimate objects and surfaces.
Carnegie offers hundreds of solutions the fall into two different categories to achieve antimicrobial performance:
1. The first is inherently antimicrobial, meaning they do not promote the spread of microbes such as mold, mildew, fungi, bacteria on inanimate objects and surfaces.
These fabrics can be safely cleaned and disinfected with EPA approved hospital-grade disinfectant cleaners. All of Carnegie’s Xorel products are inherently antimicrobial.
2. The second group is composed of many qualities that can have an antimicrobial finish added prior to shipment.
Carnegie believes that a facility’s main weapon against microbes should be the correct cleaning protocols. We vet all of our products and specific cleaning instructions are available on our website for every fabric.
