Unless otherwise noted in our Price List, these finishes must be added to our stocked fabric and can add up to two to three weeks to a delivery time. It is sometimes possible to achieve faster turn around times with added freight and handling charges.

Our Stain Resistant Finish designed for the Cruise Ship industry is an advanced topical treatment that offers stain repellancy to oil and water-based stains and is easy to clean. It can also improve abrasion and pilling resistance, and seam strength, thus allowing the fabric to perform in the demanding, high-traffic cruise environment, enabling it to pass IMO 2010 FTP Code Part 8 testing for upholstered furniture. Flame-Retardant Finish

Fabrics are immersed in a chemical bath to render them flame retardant. The tests which can be passed by treated fabrics will vary depending on the fabric's contents. Most of our fabrics can be treated to pass the NFPA 701 standard.

The following options provide a barrier to prevent bleed through of adhesives for upholstery and panel fabrics. Improves the ease of handling the fabric for some manufacturers. Certain lighter weight fabrics require stain repellent treatments before receiving this backing. A new environmentally advanced polyester backing is now available in place of acrylic backing. This chemistry facilitates recyclability of polyester fabrics. The following backings are done at a standard 54” width, please inquire for wider widths.

SBR

SBR (Styrene-butadiene rubber) is a synthetic rubber backing that provides a barrier to prevent bleed-through of adhesives for upholstery fabrics. It also provides stability and ease of handling the fabric for some furniture manufacturers.

Microventing

Microventing is a process used to produce a breathable material. It is most commonly used on wallcoverings in areas where moisture and high humidity are present. Microventing allows the moisture to pass through the material. Microventing is not a guarantee against fungal growth, but a precautionary measure.
